Tips

I realize that not all of our readers are in Seattle, but for local people, I thought I would compile a list of some of my favorite places to shop:

PFI – This is a great place to buy good cheese, bulk spices and ethnic grocery items.

Farmers Markets – I love to buy fresh produce at farmers markets, but find it is often quite expensive.

Whole Foods – This is one of my go-to places for a good selection of fresh produce.

Central Market – This is another good place to get fresh produce.  I would go here all the time for basic grocery needs if I lived closer.

Wild Salmon Seafood Market – This fish counter at Fishermen’s Terminal in Ballard is my favorite place to get fresh fish. (There are also locations on Queen Anne and in Issaquah.)
